NC Roadrunner’s Club Invitational 10K – May 19

10k Start (10) (734x800)

Cary, NC — The tenth and final race in this year’s Second Empire Grand-Prix Spring Series is the North Carolina Roadrunners Club Invitational 10K.  Now in its 15th year, the 10K will be held in conjunction with a half marathon, however, the 10K is the race you must compete in to receive Grand-Prix points.

The race uses the roads, trails, and greenways of Cary and  Umstead State Park. Due to construction on Old Reedy Creek Road, the start and finish lines have been adjusted somewhat. The race will start on Weston Parkway near 3001 Weston Parkway and will finish in the parking lot nearby.

In previous years, more than 1,000 runners have participated in the event, which is produced by the North Carolina Roadrunners Club with the support of Inside-Out Sports. A portion of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities and the Triangle Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Sunday, May 19 – Registration opens at 5:30 am
10K starts at 7:15 am
